The entire process from selecting the ingredients to serving a dish is a de-stressor and therapeutic activity for me!! Cooking keeps all my sensory information sharp and observant by the sight, smell, taste, touch, and sounds in different food preparations. I enjoy mixing flavors, textures, colors, and various techniques! Mindful cooking always helps me tap my psyche in a meditating state and discover new dimensions to self-reflection.
This is my first food blog ever! I love cooking!! I enjoy it, and cooking helps me to relax!!
In my opinion, every human should be equipped to cook for survival! Cooking is a life skill that needs to be mastered by one and all!! There was a long and challenging journey of mine from a terrible cook to a fabulous cook!!! That story I will keep for later blogging.
I get lots of compliments for the dishes I cook. Whenever someone praises my food, I proudly say, “I owe it to my Mum” (whom I call Ummi). Many of our friends and relatives have requested I share Ummi’s recipes with them.

Ummi is a brilliant cook. For me, she is the best cook in the world!! Trust me; there would be nobody I know who can forget the delicacies and the variety of flavors she serves. Ummi makes simple, healthy, but utterly delicious food. Her forte is in different kinds of pickles, which she goes on experimenting with even today. Ummi specializes in Kerala-style vegetarian dishes, but I love her non-veg and seafood preparations very much.
So, here I am writing my first food blog with one of Ummi’s masterpieces, ‘Prawns Pickles.’

If you do not like to consume prawns/shrimps, we respect your choice!!
If you are allergic to seafood, be careful and take medical care before consuming it!!
If you simply love the taste of prawns, Bon Appétit!

6 Benefits of consuming prawns:

- Good source of vitamins B-6, B-12, and Niacin (helps replenish red blood cells).
- Contains Iron, Calcium, and other minerals for building a robust immune system, such as Phosphorus, Magnesium, and Zinc.
- Low in calories with extremely good cholesterol and thus good for weight management.
- Good source of Omega 3 fatty acid, which helps to maintain a healthy heart.
- The rich source of Selenium, which is antioxidant and most effective at maintaining healthy cells.
